Outside of Ontario? If you're visiting this page from another province, check out our guide to the best online casinos in Canada. You'll find everything you need to know about playing elsewhere in the country and the best places to do it.
Noticed a change in our rankings? We regularly retest AGCO and iGO-approved casinos to keep our picks up to date. In August, Tooniebet retained the top spot with its 3,300+ games and 24/7 live tables, while Betiton’s steady rollout of new releases helped it climb up to #3. Check back often for fresh entries and updated favourites.

Our top three casinos for slots, live games, and payouts

We spend more than 60 hours each month testing Ontario online casinos and gaming sites. From signing up to cashing out, we analyze every step of playing via apps and browser sites. Read my reviews below to find out why these are our highest-ranking picks in August.

1

Tooniebet Casino
Expert rating
4.2/5

Tooniebet - best choice for online slots

Tooniebet Casino Ontario.jpg

Pros

✅ Exclusive slots from Pragmatic Play and Play'n GO

✅ Play online casino games and newly-released slots for free

✅ 280+ live blackjack tables (25x more than most ON casinos)

Cons

❌ Players report app sometimes crashes - fewer complaints for Jackpot City app

Canadix Limited's first foray into gambling resulted in Tooniebet launching. This fresh Ontario online casino brings you over 2,500 slots — the biggest collection I've seen so far in the province! From familiar ones like Play'n GO's Book of Dead to new titles, it's got options for everyone to enjoy. The 280+ live blackjack tables are also well above the 100 live dealer tables at 888.

💬 User review: "Great site, no-hassle withdrawals, and all the great games. Highly recommended. Never had to contact customer service once, which says it all." - Less S, Trustpilot review, July 5, 2025

💡 Editor's insight: I like that Tooniebet has 109 Nolimit City games, as they’re my favourite slot provider. They don’t advertise this, so I’ll tell you a secret — you can play free slot demos without logging in! Simply click on a slot, and it will load a demo version that you can enjoy without using any real money. It’s a great way to test out the features of a game.

2

SpinAway Casino
Expert rating
4.4/5

SpinAway Casino - your premium live dealer casino

SpinAway Casino Ontario.jpg

Pros

✅ 50 live casino games (some other Ontario casinos have under 30)

✅ Has the Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo's Revenge slot, whose 500,000x max win is the industry's biggest

✅ New titles added daily, with a dedicated section on the main games page

Cons

❌ Only 9 jackpot games available, compared to Tooniebet's 250

SpinAway boasts 2,500+ games from leading providers like Pragmatic Play and Evolution. Supported by two stalwarts of the live dealer space, this casino's range of 50 is well over the average number of live games in the province. The choice of stellar titles ranges from gameshows, baccarat, and roulette to poker, blackjack, and sic bo. Infinite Blackjack and Sweet Bonanza Candyland are two of my favourites in the live lobby.

💬 User review: "Not sure why all the bad reviews. I deposited $100 and won, cashed out at $300. Once I was verified, the money was in my account within an hour." - Diana Singh, Trustpilot review, March 22, 2025

💡 Editor's insight: I like how the SpinAway Casino site is laid out first of all. It’s very easy to navigate and find your favourite games. After some positive reviews about the customer support, I tested it numerous times myself at different stages of the day. I have to say it impressed me. The customer service team are quick to respond, friendly, and knowledgeable.

3

Betiton Casino
Expert rating
4.0/5

Betiton - best for secure and speedy payments

Betiton Casino Ontario

Pros

✅ New games added on a weekly basis

✅ Instant or same-day withdrawals with MuchBetter

✅ Multi-award-winning online casino

Cons

❌ Only 50 RNG and live table games combined, whereas BetMGM has 146 live tables alone

Although Betiton is a relative newcomer (it launched in January 2025), I found over 2,500 games spanning slots, Drops & Wins, and live casino tables by top providers like Microgaming, Pragmatic Play, and Evolution. My same-day cashouts were secured with bank-grade 256-bit encryption. Betiton's 98.12% win rate is also among the best on our shortlist.

💬 User review: Betiton's unclaimed Trustpilot profile rating stands at 1.4/5, but this contrasts to how I found the site. I had no issues withdrawing winnings and customer support always replied within two hours. How has your experience been? Send us an email and we'll feature your review right here.

💡 Editor's insight: I was impressed by Betiton's 2,000+ slots, which is nearly double the market average for ON casinos. I also spotted titles as recent as Hacksaw’s Invictus (released July 3rd 2025). Still, I’d like to see this casino partnering with more providers for a greater range of game categories. More detailed filtering options would make browsing easier too.

Jemma McColgan, Senior Content Editor

“If you’re overwhelmed by the choice of casinos, I suggest focusing on some benchmark features. For example, I look for casinos partnering with reputable game studios like Evolution, Games Global, and Playtech. On the payments front, I don’t mind having fewer than eight options, but I want to know Interac, Visa, and at least one e-wallet option are available.”

What do I need to sign up at an ON casino?

You'll need to be aged 19 or above and present certain documentation to sign up with an Ontario casino online. Here's what's required to start playing for real money at any gambling site in the province:

  • What is the Ontario gambling age?

You must be at least 19 years old to be able to place a bet or wager in any local casino. The same age restriction applies to those who wish to gamble at any ON online casino sites.

  • Do you need to be in Ontario to play?

Yes, you must be physically located within the province's borders to play at regulated online casinos. Otherwise, your account will be restricted. A casino is within its rights to refuse payout on any bets placed outside the province.

  • How do I prove my identity?

You can provide your driver's licence, a current passport, or a Canadian Citizenship Card. The Ontario Photo Card may also be accepted for players who don't have any of the above. A recent utility bill can be used as proof of address.

  • Is online gambling taxed?

No, not normally. Under the Canadian government's Income Tax Act, money earned by winning on any form of gambling isn't taxed. The only exception is if you're a professional gambler making the majority of your income from wagering. You'll also have to pay tax on any interest you earn from investing your gambling winnings.

How do I know I’m playing at a regulated online casino?

"Start by looking for the iGO logo, usually at the top or bottom of your screen. This is the clearest sign iGO approves a casino. In addition, you can find a full list of every regulated Ontario casino online at the official iGO site."

Do I need to verify my account?

"Yes, the sooner, the better. Some Ontario casinos will let you sign up and even place deposits before you verify your account, but you'll always need to pass verification before withdrawing your winnings. I recommend verifying your account straight away. Once I had to wait five days for my account to be verified and that delayed me getting my winnings."

Which online casino games are available in Ontario?

You'll find a huge choice of casino games available. We've highlighted some of the most played games in the province below:

  • Free spins no deposit

    Slot games

Some of the most played online slots are Big Bass Bonanza and Gates of Olympus. Top software providers like Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger, Playtech, Microgaming, and Play’n GO cover slots with varying betting ranges and volatility levels.

Bets on high-volatility slots like Sweet Bonanza 1000 are riskier but can trigger bigger gains. Starburst and other low-to-medium variance slots are popular with more casual players for their frequent though less lucrative payouts.

Relax Gaming’s Book of 99 comes with one of the highest RTP rates out there (99%), while NoLimit City’s Tombstone series has max wins as high as 500,000x.

💡 Tip: I always check the RTP information on the paytable before playing slots. Software providers sometimes release a title with different win rates, so you don’t know what you’re going to find at your chosen casino. For example, I’ve spotted The Dog House with both a 96.51% and 95.51% win rate.

    ⚖️ House edge: From 2% to 6%

  • colour-blackjack

    Blackjack

A low house edge makes online casino blackjack popular with players. In ON, Playtech's Premium Blackjack variant offers a higher chance of winning by limiting the decks to four and controlling some of the dealer's choices. You also have more options like doubling down on bets and splitting hands, pushing the RTP up to a theoretical 99.67%.

Another top title from Playtech, All Bets Blackjack, is available in both RNG and live versions. Payouts are also higher on the game, and an above-average six side bets are available. Remember that playing through basic strategy without the side bets offers the best house edge of 99.58%.

    ⚖️ House edge: From 1.5%

  • roulette.svg

    Roulette

The most popular online casino roulette games are Mega Fire Blaze and Quantum Roulette by Playtech.

Mega Fire Blaze Roulette attracts more fans as it has both standard and live casino play. With a European roulette RTP of 97.31%, it has the edge with a bonus round 10,000x payout if the ball lands on a Fire Number. This is way above the 500x of other games.

Quantum Roulette is popular with players who like a little more unpredictability in return for bigger wins. The gameplay matches European roulette, but five numbers are given multipliers from 50x to 500x. Just note that any winning straight-up bets have reduced payouts to fund the multipliers.

    ⚖️ House edge: From 1.5%

  • Video poker strategy

    Video poker

Jacks or Better is the most played online video poker game in Ontario, attracting players with its high 99.54% payout rate. You can also double or half double wins on your game if you're willing to risk a winning hand. Overall, you can win up to 4,000x, so a bet of C$2.00 would mean an C$8,000 win.

Deuces Wild Multi-Hand is also popular thanks to its potentially lucrative multi hand function. Playing five hands with each bet means any win is credited to each hand. Unusually, this feature is offered at the same payout rate as a single hand game, so there's no loss of winning funds.

    ⚖️ House edge: From 0.5% to 5%

  • Video Poker

    Online poker

Ontario offers regulated online poker rooms so it's the only province where you can join legal tournaments like Sit & Go and other online poker rooms. Tooniebet has both video and live poker, including Texas Hold’Em Bonus.

Texas Hold'em is the most popular variant as the simplest to learn. The faster pace also makes it the most visible game at online poker rooms and in televised tournaments.

Omaha Hi is the next common variant in Ontario online poker. Players can enjoy a similarly fast-paced game to Hold'em that's still quick to pick up. You have more choice in the hand you play here, as you receive four cards and discard two before laying.

    ⚖️ House edge: From 1.5%

  • Live dealer person man user human logo blue

    Live casino games

Casinos' live dealer games offer a virtual experience of playing in person downtown in Niagara Falls or Windsor. You can expect to see live versions of roulette, blackjack, poker, and baccarat, as well as gameshows. For example, there are 197 live options at Sports Interaction casino.

The most popular live casino games are currently the live versions of Premier Blackjack and Quantum Roulette, detailed above.

Other top titles include Unlimited Blackjack and Live American Roulette. Live Unlimited Blackjack has no cap on the number of 'seats' at the table, so you never have to wait to join a game. Unique game bets include instant wins on Dealer's Pair or Player Pair, and 21+3 side bets (where you bet that the player hand plus the dealer's card will add up to a poker hand).

⚖️ House edge: Depends on the game

  • baccarat-how-to-play-image-mobile-2.svg

    Baccarat

With baccarat, you’re betting on the total of the player’s hand versus the dealer’s. The hand closest to nine wins, unless there’s a tie.

You can play both RNG and live versions at online baccarat casinos like BetWay and 888. Top game studios like Evolution have different variants of this popular card game, including Punto Banco, Speed Baccarat, No Commission Baccarat, and Baccarat Squeeze.

Editor's tip: My personal favourite version is Hacksaw’s Baccarat Dare2Win. For premium live-dealer tables, I turn to BetMGM’s Golden Wealth and Speed Baccarat, but I reommend LeoVegas’s Salon Privé tables for mobile play.

⚖️ House edge: 1.06% - 1.24% for Banker or Player bets

  • Dices

    Craps and Sic Bo

Dice games like Craps and Sic Bo involve betting on the outcome of a number of dice: two for Craps and three for Sic Bo. You’ll find both RNG versions and live tables by Evolution and Pragmatic. Though these games look simple, there are different strategies and betting options, and the house edge largely depends on the bet you place.

With Sic Bo, a 1x payout faces a 2.78% house edge but this goes up to 16.67% for a two-dice combo and a 5x win. These higher paying bets aren’t exactly player-friendly, and the same goes for Craps, where payouts of 4x–9x face a house edge of 10–17%.

💡 Tip: Although Sic Bo offers a large range of betting options, I advise sticking to big/small bets, which are the safest options, like betting on red/black in roulette. With Craps, I stick to Pass Line, Don’t Pass, Come, and Don’t Come, and I avoid proposition bets in the centre of the table.

⚖️ House Edge: 1.41% for Craps, 2.78% for Sic Bo

  • crash-games.svg

    Crash games

No longer a niche category at crypto casinos, you’ll now find crash and mine games under the ‘Arcade’ menu at some regulated casinos. These fast-paced but simple games involve cashing out on an increasing multiplier before it crashes. With mine games, you need to reveal as many safe tiles as possible before hitting a mine.

Titles by Hacksaw, Spribe, and SmartSoft are popular with arcade fans. We recommend Jackpot City for crash games and other quick-hit arcade games like Keno.

  • bingo

    Bingo

Online casinos are catching up with the demand for online bingo, which appeals to casual players who like the social element of gaming. Tooniebet, BetMGM, SpinAway, and most of our recommended gambling sites now offer four or five video bingo options, including Microgaming’s Immortal Romance Video Bingo.

I've seen instant-win bingo games as well as 75-or 90-ball progressives as top software providers like Pragmatic Play and Relax Gaming develop their bingo portfolio.

💡 Tip: I’ve only rarely seen a separate bingo menu but typing ‘bingo’ in the search bar should do the trick. For a more exclusive bingo experience, I suggest visiting Delta Bingo Online. Casino Time also has Pragmatic Play’s Bingo Blast.

  • colour-keno-chips

    Lottery

For players who enjoy casual gambling with minimum risks, lottery games are also a good option. We found online lottery games like Lotto Max and Daily Grand at OLG, Ontario’s official online gambling platform.

Privately-owned online casinos are barred from providing lottery games in Ontario but you can try Keno, a low-stakes lottery and bingo hybrid. We especially liked BetMGM’s 10+ variants.

Casino payment methods

minimum-deposit-image-mobile-2
You can make casino deposits and withdrawals at ON casinos by using credit or debit cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, and prepaid vouchers. Interac, Visa, and Mastercard are supported by nearly all gambling sites, followed by online banking and e-wallets like MuchBetter and Payz.Casinos in the province set minimum deposit limits at C$10-C$20, even if your payment method allows for lower limits. Minimum withdrawal limits normally start at C$20 and max withdrawals depend on your chosen payment method. We tested the most popular payment methods to compare their transaction limits and times below.

Can I use crypto at ON casinos?

No, you can’t. Cryptocurrencies are legal in Canada but they’re not considered legal tender at regulated ON casinos. A casino might support crypto payments outside the province, but if you’re in Ontario, you’ll have to use CAD.Foreign currencies aren’t directly supported at AGCO-licensed casinos, which operate exclusively in CAD. If you deposit in USD, EUR, or GBP, for example, your payment provider or bank will covert it to CAD against a conversion fee.
Withdrawal options explained

"Though most of these payment methods are available for both deposits and withdrawals, I find that very few casinos support Apple Pay withdrawals. Some sites don't support Mastercard withdrawals due to local banking restrictions. Regulated casinos also use a closed-loop system for anti-fraud purposes, which means I’ll only be able to withdraw via PayPal, for example, if I’ve already made a PayPal deposit over the last six months."

Does Ontario allow online gambling?

jemma.mccolgan.png
Jemma McColgan, Senior Content Editor

"Yes, it does. It's the only Canadian province with a fully regulated gambling market, though we're expecting Alberta to follow. Players outside the region can access Canadian gambling sites in the unregulated market. iGaming launched locally on April 4, 2022. Today, the province has 85 regulated gambling sites covering casino, sports betting, poker, and bingo. As of April 2025, iGO and the AGCO reported that 83.7% of bettors played on regulated sites. They want to increase this to 90% by 2027."

Gambling in Ontario is

  • colour-lockRegulated
  • colour-lockUnregulated
Ontario-flag-image.png
Previously, the only casinos available to players were the OLG online casino and unregulated offshore sites. Offshore sites weren't validated for fair play, security, or payout reliability. With the passage of government Bill C-218 in August 2021, provinces could license single-game sports wagering and online casino gambling.

What's changed since the launch?

Regulation means various benefits to you as a player. The province sets a minimum payout rate that casinos must meet to ensure fair returns on wagers. For example, online slots must offer a minimum 85% win rate — although many are much higher.Since the 2022 launch, the province's gambling scene has developed rapidly. As Canada's most populous province, home to 40% of the population, there's a thriving market here. As of May 2025, iGO reported players wager over 6x more on casino games than any sports-related betting.
iGaming Ontario Logo.png

How are online casinos regulated?

Each online casino and software developer seeking to enter the ON market registers with the AGCO, which sets and enforces the requirements all land-based and online casinos in the province must meet. Casinos also enter an operating agreement with iGO — effectively licensing them to offer their sites and apps in the province.Requirements include fulfilling the AGCO's Registrar Standards for Internet Gaming, which legally benchmarks game randomness, ensures legal conduct of casinos, and enforces standards for responsible gambling tools. It also lays out rules regarding player data security, financial best practices, and advertising. Overall, this has meant fairer, safer, and more secure online gambling in Ontario and a higher quality of casinos online.

Playing at regulated vs unregulated casinos

The regulated market protects players and ensures fair play. Casinos licensed by iGO must fulfil several requirements to ensure online players can bet with confidence. Our experts review regulated and non-regulated casinos alike, so we've compared the pros and cons below.
Regulated casinos
Unregulated casinos
Locally regulated by iGO and AGCO
Larger game libraries
Stringent RG, privacy, and security criteria
Wider selection of payment methods, including crypto
Game fairness is an enforced requirement
Support other currencies but may not support CAD
Local support tailored to ON players
Foreign licensing bodies, not all as stringent as AGCO
Competitive loyalty and VIP programs
Game fairness, robust security, and payouts not guaranteed
Fewer games and smaller player pools
Limited responsible gambling measures

What gambling sites are legal in Ontario?

Since Ontario legalized online gambling in Ottawa and the wider province in 2022, the market has developed significantly. There are now 50 operators running 85 gambling sites, 74 of which are casinos.

With iGO's 2024-2027 Business Plan to increase player choice, we can only expect the number to keep growing. Below is an overview of all the licensed online casinos, sports betting sites, bingo games, and poker platforms as of August, 2025.

Upcoming changes in the Ontario iGaming world

As the iGaming industry in Ontario goes from strength to strength, we expect the market to keep growing. Here are the biggest changes you can expect in 2025 and beyond.
  • Continued growth, working with operators and other third parties: iGO's 2024-2027 Business Plan outlines several expansion ideas. These include working with operators, the OLG, and the AGCO to bring more choice to players. VIXIO Gambling Compliance predicts rapid growth to a revenue of $1.5 billion by 2026.
  • Sustained commitment to responsible gambling: The provincial government will invest $9m in responsible gambling as part of a three-year plan. In addition, the AGCO and iGO selected Integrity Compliance 360 and IXUP as partners for their self-exclusion program in August 2024. This will allow you to self-exclude from all Ontario iGaming operators with ease, including OLG.ca.
  • More casinos and software providers: As iGO renews operating agreements for Tooniebet and others, new sites are set to launch in the province. With more operators, we can expect software providers to follow Swintt and EvoPlay to enter the market, too.

A helpful timeline of Ontario gambling

  • 2025: The province's regulated market celebrates the third anniversary of its launch. Players are wagering around $7 billion a month across the board.
  • 2024: ON becomes one of the biggest North American iGaming markets, taking over $35.6 billion in total wagers.
  • 2024: The Superior Court validates iGaming in Ontario as compliant with the Criminal Code, following a legal challenge by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake.
  • 2024: As of February 28, a ban on celebrities and athletes appearing in gambling ads comes into force. The only exception is to advocate for responsible gambling practices.
  • 2023: In November, iGO announces that a centralized self-exclusion tool is in development to allow bettors to exclude themselves from all Ontario operators.
  • 2022: Legal and regulated iGaming launches on April 4, 2022. In-person sports betting launches at retail casinos from October 2022.
  • 2021: OLG’s province-run sportsbook, PROLINE+, goes live for Ontarians on August 27, 2021. The AGCO establishes iGO to manage the online gambling market.
  • 2021: Bill C-218 passes. Provincial governments or anyone licensed by a province can run lottery schemes that involve betting on races (other than a horse-race), fights, single sports events, or athletic contests.
  • 2015: The state-run online casino, PlayOLG.ca, launches, later becoming OLG.ca. The AGCO assumes responsibility for horse racing gambling.
  • 1990s: The Gaming Control Act of 1992 comes into force and Casino Windsor (now Caesars Windsor) becomes the first legal casino in Ontario in 1994. The AGCO takes regulatory control over land-based casinos in ON.
  • 1960s–1970s: Some forms of gambling become legal and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is launched in 1975.
  • 1860s–1890s: ‘Games of chance’, including card games and lotteries, are outlawed. Horse race wagering is still allowed.

How our experts evaluate online casinos

With 30 years of casino reviews behind us, Casino.org has honed the most comprehensive testing system in the industry. Our expert team completes a robust 25-step review process to determine the top online casinos in the ON province. These steps cover everything from gameplay to support and security. Here's a snapshot of what makes the province's best online casinos stand out:

  • Security and fairness

Before we recommend a casino, we first test out its safety measures. No casino will make it to this page without holding proof of an iGO operating agreement (licence). As part of getting their iGO approval, gambling sites must agree to deposit their Ontario-based revenue into the body's accounts.

Beyond that, casinos like Jackpot City score well because they also carry international licences, use SSL data encryption, and hold the Responsible Gambling Council's seal of approval. It could still get a higher score by getting audited by a third-party body like eCOGRA.

    Secure SSLSecure badgeiGaming Ontario Logo.pngagco-black-logo.png
  • Games and software

We only recommend an online casino in Ontario with over 400 games. These will include a substantial range of slots, progressive jackpots, table games like blackjack and roulette, and live dealer options. Local gambling law requires casinos to have an overall payout rate of 85%. We like to see that average around 96% or more, though.

The very best casinos will have well over 1,000 games, like BetMGM's 2,500+ strong lobby, all coming from top software providers. We like to see a minimum of 10 software developers on offer and look for reputable industry names like Microgaming, NetEnt, Relax Gaming, and more. Tooniebet scores very well here, with 38+ software types on its platform.

  • Mobile play and apps

The best online casinos must deliver an outstanding mobile experience, whether in-browser or on app. While several operators don't offer apps, examples like Tooniebet and BetMGM, which get a 4+/5 rating in the Play and App stores, are our quality benchmark.

As standard, every casino that we recommend will be available to play on mobile and optimized for iOS and Android device browsers. We guarantee that you'll also be able to find at least 90% of the desktop games available on mobile.

Top marks will go to the mobile casinos with dedicated apps for players. This should be easy to use with a well-designed interface and search functionality. Plus, we always look out for app-specific features like exclusive games and more.

    app-store-logo.pngGoogle_Play_logo.png
  • Banking options

At any top-rated online casino, real money players should expect a vast choice of local Canadian payment methods. The province's most used casino banking options are Interac, credit card, MuchBetter, and Paysafecard. Spin Casino scores highly here for offering all three among nine options in total. Many casinos provide around 6-8 options.

Payout speeds must be fast, too, though these can vary depending on the payment method you choose. E-wallets like PayPal and Skrill tend to be the fastest. Betiton, FireVegas, and BetVictor score highest for processing some payments within 24 hours. That said, sites like Bally Casino still review well with a 1-2 day payment processing window.

    deposit--interac.svgVisaMastercardPaypal casinosSkrill.svgPaysafecard.svgmuchbetter
  • Customer support

We only recommend online casinos that put players first. This is why we always test the customer support channels before finalizing our rating.

It's common for live chat, email, and FAQs to be available, but we don't always find phone support. A site like Tooniebet scores most highly as it offers real-time support through live chat, email, and phone support too. We give extra points to those sites that offer 24/7 service, and those that have actually useful FAQs.

So... what is the most trustworthy option?

Our tests determine Tooniebet to be the most trustworthy online casino. It boasts an iGO operating agreement and a strong track record for following the AGCO's regulations. Tooniebet carries international licences, too, after gaining the approval of regulators the world over.

Jemma McColgan, Senior Content Editor

"It's important to always check in with your emotions and budget when gambling online. I like to set spending and session limits before I start playing. All iGO-licensed casinos must offer time-outs and self-exclusion, and a centralized self-exclusion tool is in the works. This will let players take a break from all Ontario casinos at once."
